FASC 13327 E. La Norma si applica ai dispositivi passivi per fibra ottica per il controllo della potenza. Essi presentano caratteristiche generali quali quelle di non contenere elementi optoelettronici o altri trasduttori, di avere due porte per la trasmissione della potenza ottica, di attenuare l'energia trasmessa in maniera fissa o variabile e infine di avere come porte delle terminazioni di fibre ottiche non connettorizzate oppure dei codini (pigtail) di fibre ottiche con connettore.
