Si rivolge anche a chi fornisca detti rivelatori al pubblico per successiva installazione da parte di personale riconosciuto competente dalla legislazione nazionale. Gli apparecchi in questione non sono alternativi alla buona installazione e al buono stato d'uso degli apparecchi a gas a cui si riferiscono. Costituiscono solo una protezione aggiuntiva. La presente norma è stata elaborata dal CENELEC, ma è stata seguita in Italia, per conto del CEI, dal comitato tecnico misto CEI/CIG (ente federato UNI) 216. Inoltre sostituirà norme CEI/UNI precedentemente elaborate da detto CT.
