This Defence Standard covers winterization requirements for vehicles which are intended for use in theatres of operation with low ambient temperatures. It specifies the protection requirements which shall be provided to enable reliable starting and operation of the vehicle and the safety of its occupants. Equipment prepared in accordance with this standard shall be capable of being operated and maintained in climates down to -46 deg C, where conditions of ice and snow, combined with adverse windchill are inhibiting factors.
