This part of DIN 32877 defines the principles, general requirements and terms for characteristics of noncontac optoelectronic length measuring devices, e. g. based on the triangulation measuring principle, confocal chromatic measuring principle, absolute interferometric measuring principle and the scanning measuring principle with measuring ranges from 100 μm to 1 m.
