This Standard is included in DIN Handbook 202. Contains stipulations for unified, unambiguous and clear graphical representation of functional relationships between continuous variables, e.g. for scientific and technical publications. Where appropriate, however, it can also be used for slides and for representations on normal commercial graph papers. According to whether numerical values are to be read off from the graphical representation or not, a distinction is made between quantitative and qualitative representations. Graphical representations in co-ordinate systems are referred to for short as diagrams below. Applies, where appropriate, also to function scales, net-work diagrams, straight-line diagrams and other monograms.
