This standard is included in DIN Handbook 175/1. Specifies a method of determining the mass per unit area of metallic coatings on metallic or nonmetallic substrates by dissolving the coating and analysing the solution by flame atomic absorption spectrometry ('flame AAS', for short). Given the high sensitivity of the method, it shall preferably be used to determine the mass of thin coatings (less than 10 [mu]m thick).
