Diese Norm legt die Bestimmung der Massenänderung beim Trocknen bei (135 +/- 5) grad C (Entweichen flüchtiger Bestandteile, d. h. überwiegend Feuchte) sowie das Verfahren zur Herstellung und Aufbewahrung einer Endprobe für die chemische Analyse von keramischen Rohstoffen und feuerfesten ungeformten Erzeugnissen sowie geformten feuerfesten Erzeugnissen fest. Diese Norm gilt nicht für die chemische Analyse von siliciumcarbidhaltigen Stollen und für flüssige Bindemittel, die zur Herstellung feuerfester Werkstoffe Verwendung finden. Allgemeine Regeln der Probenahme und Begriffe (z.B. Probenbezeichnungen) nach DIN 51061-2 und DIN 51061-3.
