The method specified serves to determine the viscosity of bituminous binders, such as bitumens, tars, pitches and pitch mixtures, cutback bitumens, etc., over the temperature range in which such binders exhibit Newtonian flow. The method specified is not suitable for testing binder specimens that contain filling material. The viscosities measured at different temperatures permit the viscosity/temperature relation to be determined.
