Spindle noises of this type are envisaged for lathes and spindle units on which the chucks seldom need to be changed. A distinction is made between Type A and Type B spindle noses, depending on the arrangement of the fixing holes in the spindle noise, as follows: Fixing holes in spindle noise flange (Type A); Fixing holes in flange and end face of spindle nose (Type B).
