This standard is included in DIN VDE Handbook 41. The standard describes hand-operated square drive double or single hexagon socket wrenches for working close to, or on, live parts at voltages up to 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. These wrenches are only suitable for use in combination with tools as specified in DIN 7436 or DIN 7449 and DIN 7434. Safety requirements and main dimensions are specified. Regarding the use of tools when working near, with or on electrical installations see DIN EN 50110PT1.
