    Diese Norm soll bei der Auswahl von Passtoleranzen und Toleranzfeldkombinationen für die Belange des Triebwerkbaus der Luft- und Raumfahrt angewendet werden und dazu dienen, die Vielfalt der möglichen Kombinationen der ISO/R 286 - 1962 einzuschränken, um die Anzahl der Werkzeuge, Lehren und Messgeräte auf eine geringe Menge zu begrenzen. Die in den Tabellen 1 und 2 ausgewählten Toleranzfelder können beliebig gepaart werden. Jedoch wird empfohlen, diejenigen Paarungen zu wählen, die in den Tabellen 3 und 4 zusammengestellt wurden und deren Abmasse berechnet vorliegen. Aus Gründen der Wirtschaftlichkeit sollte nur in Sonderfällen von den in dieser Norm empfohlenen Toleranzfeldern und Toleranzfeldkombinationen abgewichen werden.
