Diese Technische Spezifikation dient Betreibern von Erdgastransportsystemen als Unterstützung für ein unternehmensinternes Leitungsintegritäts-Managementsystems (PIMS) und damit für die Sicherheit von Erdgastransportsystemen. Sie bezieht sich auf landverlegte Transportleitungen und zugehörige Ausrüstungen (elektrische Trennung, Abschalteinrichtungen, Kathodische Schutzeinrichtungen, einfache Verbindungen). Übergabepunkt, "komplexe" Verbindungen, Speichereinrichtungen, Terminals und Verdichterstationen sind vom Geltungsbereich ausgeschlossen.
