Applicable to optical fibre amplifiers (OFAs) using active fibres, which contain rare-earth dopants, currently commercially available. Meant to establish uniform requirements for accurate and reliable measurements, using the electrical spectrum analyzer test procedure, of OFA parameters as specified in clause 3 of IEC 61291-1.
