Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Fehlerstrom-Schutzschalter ohne eingebauten Überstromschutz, deren Funktion von der Netzspannung unabhängig bzw. abhängig ist (im Folgenden als RCCBs bezeichnet), zum Einsatz in Hausinstallationen und ähnlichen Anwendungen, mit Bemessungsspannungen nicht über 440 V Wechselspannung mit Bemessungsfrequenzen von 50 Hz, 60 Hz oder 50/60 Hz und Bemessungsströmen nicht über 125 A für feste Installation, die in erster Linie zum Schutz gegen gefährliche Körperströme bestimmt sind.
