Proposes the adoption of IEC 60601-2-43:2000 as a Joint Australian/New Zealand Standard to provide requirements for X-ray equipment declared by the manufacturer to be suitable for prolonged radioscopically guided interventional procedures. Does not apply to equipment for radiotherapy, computer tomography, accessories intended to be introduced into the patient, and mammographic X-ray equipment. It modifies and has been reproduced from IEC 60601-2-43:2000 with variations for Australia and New Zealand included in a ZZ Appendix. Copies of IEC 60601-2-43:2000 may be purchased from, or viewed at, any Standards Australia office or Standards New Zealand.
