Proposes the adoption of IEC 947-6-2:1992 and its Corrigendum:1995 as an Australian Standard which applies to control and protective switching devices (or equipment) (CPS), the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits of rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. CPSs are intended to provide both protective and control functions for remotely controlled circuits. They may also fulfil additional functions, such as isolation. Copies of IEC 947-6-2:1992 and its Corrigendum:1995 may be purchased from or viewed at any Standards Australia office.
