Withdrawn date

07-23-2013

Published date

01-12-2013

Specifies the minimum requirements that shall be included in procedures for the radiographic examination of steel castings up to 300 mm thickness by means of X-radiation or gamma radiation. Does not specify acceptance criteria as these will be stated in the product specification. The choice of procedure will be determined by parameters that may vary from one casting to another or even one area to another on the same casting. Where there is a contractual requirement for radiographic procedures to be approved, the Manufacturer shall submit all procedures for formal acceptance by the Purchaser and/or inspecting authority. Where no such requirements exist, the Purchaser shall satisfy himself that the radiographic techniques employed achieve the relevant acceptance criteria.
