View on Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) criteria that are needed in addition to those in GR 253 CORE, Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) Transport Systems: Common Generic Criteria, to support the optical transport rate of OC 192 (a transport rate of 9.85328 Gb/s, which is often approximated as 10 Gb/s for brevity). The criteria within is meant to advise the telecommunications industry of Bellcore's view of proposed generic needs in support of SONET OC 192 transport system and to reflect recent work in the various committees and subcommittees of standards organizations such as the International Telecommunication Union - Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) ANSI accredited Committee T1 and the Electronic Industries Association/Telecommunications Industry Association.
