Provides the Telcordia view of proposed generic requirements for use of Bearer independent call control (BICC) protocol to signal between serving nodes so as to establish and release a call over an ATM backbone network having separate call control and bearer control signaling. Also represents current views based on existing and evolving industry standards related to BICC. Wherever possible, points to specific requirements already listed in other Telcordia generic requirements documents or to industry standards.
