This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies designations of dimensions for threaded fasteners such as bolts, machine screws, nuts, and symbols for indicating them, hereinafter referred to as the "symbols for dimensions". The symbols for dimensions specified in this standard shall be used for portions corresponding to designations of dimensions and those for other portions shall be specified individual standards for threaded fasteners. However, those symbols shall be specified so as not to duplicate the symbols given in this standard.
