This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies a method for determination of the Kappa number of pulp. This test method gives the index of lignin content or bleachability of pulp, and is applicable to all kinds of unbleached pulp obtained in yields under 60% (mass/mass), and to semi-bleached chemical pulp and semi-chemical pulp.
