Establishes a method to determine the in plane shear strength of horizontal bed joints in masonry incorporating sheet damp proof course material using a specimen tested in double shear with load applied perpendicular to the bed joints. Provides guidance on the preparation of specimens, the conditioning required before testing, the method of test, the testing machine, the calculation method and the contents of the test report.
