La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences pour l'évaluation de la conformité aux caractéristiques de performance pour des éléments structuraux en acier et en aluminium ainsi que pour des kits mis sur le marché en tant que produits de construction. L'évaluation de la conformité couvre les caractéristiques de fabrication, et si nécessaire les caractéristiques de calcul structural. La présente Norme européenne couvre également l'évaluation de la conformité des éléments en acier utilisés dans les structures mixtes acier-béton. Les éléments peuvent être utilisés directement ou être inclus dans des ouvrages de construction ou en tant qu'éléments structuraux sous forme de kits.
