La présente Norme européenne décrit une méthode permettant de déterminer le retrait linéaire au jeune âge des produits de collage structural couverts par les normes EN 1501-1 et EN 1504-4. Elle décrit les procédures de mesurage du retrait initial à partir du gel initial du polymère, sous la forme de minces bandes non-bridées d'une épaisseur inférieure à 10 mm. Elle est prévue pour le mesurage du retrait au jeune âge, par exemple jusqu'à 24 h.
