La présente Norme européenne décrit une méthode simple d'examen des gravillons recyclés afin d'identifier et d'estimer les proportions relatives des différents constituants. Il convient d'utiliser cette méthode d'essai de référence pour tous les essais de type initial, de même qu'en cas de litige. A d'autres fins, en particulier dans le cadre de la maîtrise de la production des granulats, d'autres méthodes peuvent être utilisées à condition qu'il existe une relation entre ces dernières et la méthode de référence.
