Le présent document définit les règles générales de conception et de calcul des assemblages vissés mécaniques non optimisés précontraints, et permet le choix et la validation des constituants de l'assemblage et de ses conditions de montage. Il s'applique aux assemblages vissés mécaniques précontraints, c'est-à-dire conçus pour transmettre des charges statiques ou dynamiques en assurant une force de serrage des pièces assemblées; il définit la méthode de calcul pour un assemblage unique; il ne prévoit pas le calcul des efforts extérieurs appliqués à l'assemblage à déterminer au préalable.
