La présente norme est destinée à servir de guide pour l'identification des caoutchoucs par l'enregistrement chromatographie en phase gazeuse et caractérisation par spectrométrie de masse de leurs produits de pyrolyse. La méthode spécifiée ne vise qu'une analyse qualitative. Elle ne couvre pas l'analyse quantitative. La méthode s'applique aux caoutchoucs à l'état brut et aux mélanges vulcanisés ou non. Dans les mélanges, les caoutchoucs peuvent être seuls ou associés. Pour des associations dont le (les) caoutchouc(s) minoritaire(s) est (sont) inférieur(s) à 10%, la détection peut s'avérer difficile. Une liste non limitative est donnée en 3.
