Diese Norm gilt für kaltgewalzte Flacherzeugnisse ohne Überzug in Breiten ab 600 mm und Dicken von 0,35 mm bis - soferne bei der Bestellung nichts anderes vereinbart wird - 3 mm aus weichen Stählen zum Kaltumformen, die zum Emaillieren geeignet sind und als Blech, Breitband, längsgeteiltes Breitband oder als aus längsgeteiltem Breitband oder Blech hergestellte Stäbe geliefert werden. Sie gilt nicht für Kaltband (in Walzbreiten unter 600 mm), ferner nicht für kaltgewalzte Flacherzeugnisse, für die eigene Normen bestehen. Beispiele für solche Erzeugnisse enthält Abschnitt 1.
