Dieser Teil der Norm legt zusätzliche sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen an standortgebundene Rutschen fest, die zur Benutzung durch Kinder vorgesehen sind. Das Ziel ist, dem Benutzer Schutz gegen mögliche Gefährdungen bei der Nutzung des Gerätes zu bieten. Wo die Hauptspielfunktion nicht das Rutschen ist, können die entsprechenden Anforderungen dieses Teils der EN 1176, falls zutreffend, verwendet werden.
