Festgelegt werden die Konstruktion, die Herstellung sowie die Prüfung und Inspektion von handelsüblichen, federbelasteten Sicherheitsventilen, die für den Einbau (falls erforderlich) in Flaschen gemäss EN 1442 vorgesehen sind. Neben den Festlegungen für Werkstoffe sind auch Aussagen über die Abnahmeprüfung und die Kennzeichnung sowie Verbraucherhinweise enthalten. In diese ÖNORM EN wurde die A1:2007 eingearbeitet, wobei Änderungen zum Titel und Vorwort, zu 5.3.2, 6.1.8 und 7.4 durchgeführt wurden.
