Für erdverlegte Fernwärmenetze sind die Anforderungen und Prüfmethoden für werksmässig gedämmte Ventilaufbauten festgelegt, die aus einem Stahlventil, einer Polyurethan-Hartschaumdämmung und einem Aussenmantel aus Polyethylen hoher Dichte bestehen. Die Ventil- und Dämmwerkstoffe sowie die Prüfungen und Prüfmethoden sind ebenso angeführt wie Verarbeitungs- und Instandhaltungsvorschriften. Die erforderliche Kennzeichnung durch den Hersteller wird erläutert. Im informativen Anhang A sind Richtlinien für die Inspektion sowie für die Qualitätssicherung gegeben und in einer Tabelle dargestellt. Diese Norm stellt eine Erweiterung zur Basisnorm EN 253 dar.
