Die Lokationsreferenzierungsregeln, welche in dieser ÖNORM definiert sind, sprechen den speziellen Bedarf von TMC-Systemen an, welche abgekürtzte Kodierungsformate verwenden, um für TTI-Mitteilungen (Traffic and Traveller Information Messages) über mobile Überträger (z.B. GSM, DAB) oder mittels Austauschprotokollen wie DATEX zu sorgen.
