Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zum Bestimmen des Zersetzungsgrades von Kunststoff- materialien fest, die im Labormassstab einer Kompostierumgebung ausgesetzt sind. Das Verfahren gilt nicht für die Bestimmung der biologischen Abbaubarkeit von Kunststoffen unter Kompostierbedingungen. Um die Kompostierbarkeit zu bescheinigen, ist weiteres Prüfen notwendig.
