Diese Norm ist anwendbar für Mittelfrequenztransformatoren die in Widerstandspressschweissmaschinen eingesetzt werden. Die Frequenz der Eingangsspannung ist auf 1000 Hz festgelegt. Die Höhe der Eingangsspannung beträgt 500 V oder mehr. Die Mittelfrequenztransformatoren werden überwiegend in Schweisszangen eingesetzt. Die vorliegende Norm für Mittelfrequenztransformatoren ergänzt die Normen ISO 5826 und ISO 10656, welche anwendbar bleiben, solange sie nicht in der vorliegenden Norm geändert werden.
