ISO 28199 legt ein Verfahren zum Beurteilen von Beschichtungsstoffen in Forschung, Entwicklung und Produktion bezüglich ihrer Prozesseignung, Prozesssicherheit und Fehleranalyse fest. Die zu beurteilenden Eigenschaften von Beschichtungsstoffen und Beschichtungen sind abhängig von der Schichtdicke. Hierzu wird unter definierten Bedingungen ein Beschichtungssystem mit ansteigender Schichtdicke auf eine obenplatte aufgetragen. Es werden folgende Prüfmerkmale gemessen: - Schichtdicke nach ISO 2808; - Oberflächenstruktur; - Farbe nach ISO 7724; - Glanz nach ISO 2813 (optional). Daraus werden in Verbindung mit einer visuellen Beurteilung folgende Eigenschaften bestimmt: - Farbstabilität, Prozessdeckvermögen, Spritznebelaufnahme, Wolkigkeit, Oberflächenstruktur, Benetzung; - Ablaufneigung, Kocherbildung, Nadelstichbildung, Deckvermögen.
