Dieser Teil der Norm ergänzt Teil 1 und spezifiziert mit ihm zusammen die Aufstellungs- und Befestigungsbedingungen, die Betriebszustände und Messbedingungen für Messung, Angabe und Nachprüfung der Geräusche, die von verschiedenen Arten von Maschinen zur Herstellung textiler Flächengebilde abgestrahlt werden. Er gilt für Methoden der Genauigkeitsklassen 2 und 3, die in den genannten Normen definiert sind. Die Norm behandelt Maschinen zum Weben (wie in ISO 5247 angeführt) und zum Wirken und Stricken (wie in ISO 7839 angeführt).
