Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für Stecker und ortsfeste Steckdosen oder Kupplungssteckdosen, nur für Wechselstrom mit oder ohne Schutzkontakt, mit einer Bemessungsspannung von über 50 V jedoch nicht mehr als 440 V und einem Bemessungsstrom, der 32 A nicht überschreitet, die für den Hausgebrauch oder ähnliche Zwecke, entweder in Innenräumen oder im Freien, vorgesehen sind. Der Bemessungsstrom ist für ortsfeste Steckdosen, die mit schraubenlosen Anschlussklemmen ausgestattet sind, auf 16 A begrenzt. Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM erstreckt sich nicht auf Anforderungen an Unterputz- Einbaudosen. Sie behandelt nur jene Anforderungen für Aufputz-Einbaudosen, die für die Prüfungen an Steckdosen notwendig sind.
