Dieser Teil von ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60958 legt die Schnittstelle für die Zusammenschaltung von Digitalton-Geräten nach ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 60958-1 für die Anwendung in der Unterhaltungselektronik (Allgemeingebrauch) fest. ANMERKUNG Bei Unterhaltungselektronik-Anwendungen in einer digital arbeitenden Umgebung ist die Schnittstelle in erster Linie für die Übertragung von Stereo-Programmen mit einer Auflösung von bis zu 20 Bits je Abtastung bestimmt. Eine Erweiterung auf 24 Bits je Abtastung ist möglich.
