Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM behandelt die wesentlichen Auslegungsanforderungen zur Sicherstellung der technischen Integrität von Windenergieanlagen (WEA). Der Zweck der Norm besteht darin, für ein angemessenes Schutzniveau gegen Schäden aus Risiken während der geplanten Lebensdauer zu sorgen. Die Norm gilt für alle WEA-Komponenten, wie Betriebsführungs- und Sicherheitssysteme, interne elektrische Systeme, mechanische Systeme und die tragenden Strukturen. Die Norm gilt für WEA jeder Grösse. Für kleine Windenergieanlagen kann ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 61400-2 angewendet werden. Die vorliegende Norm sollte in Verbindung mit den entsprechenden IEC/ISO-Normen, die in Abschnitt 2 angegeben sind, angewandt werden.
