Gives recommendations for selecting and applying surge arresters for use in three-phase systems having nominal voltages over 1 kV. Applicable to non-linear resistor type gapped surge arresters as specified in IEC 99-1, and to gapless metal-oxide surge arresters as in IEC 99-4.
