Gives advice for assessing the fire hazard of electrotechnical products and for the resulting development of fire hazard testing that relates directly to harm to animals, people or property. Products specified in this standard relate to components, materials or complete end-use-products. To be used with respect to their individual applications this standard is intended as a guide to IEC committees. Attention is drawn to the principles in IEC Guide 104, and to the role of committees with safety pilot functions and safety group functions. Wherever applicable, one of the responsibilities of a technical committee is to make use of basic safety publication in the preparation of its publications.
