Bellcore's preliminary view of generic operations requirements for Broadband Switching Systems to support early-availability Broadband ISDN, which will support Permanent Virtual Connection (PVC) services. These operations requirements are expected to remain intact throughout the evolution of this Network Element to Switched Virtual Connection (SVC) services. Requirements are specified for all aspects of operations needed in the BSS. This TA-covers Performance, Fault, Security, Accounting and configuration Management, as well as operations communications within the network. It also covers Network Data Collection, Customer Network Management and the Interim Local Management Interface. A discussion is provided of the service operations requirements that apply on a BISDN platform.
