Superseded date

10-01-1993

Published date

Presents network compatibility tests for verifying that interconnected networks can use Signaling System 7 (SS7) to establish, release, & control calls that originate & terminate on a Basic Rate ISDN access line. The tests are intended to help ensure that interconnected networks can exchange the appropriate protocol messages for Basic Rate ISDN services. These tests include call through and test set generated types, & have been developed to maintain the integrity of existing services across the network interconnection. They reflect current industry agreements reached in the Network Operations Forum. The reader is assumed to have a basic knowledge of: a Common Channel Signaling network & its architecture; basic ISDN User Part call setup procedures; ISDN callset up using SS7; network interconnection.
