Defines the generic requirements for an Automatic Message Accounting Transmitter (AMAT) for the 1ESS switching system which is a reliable replacement for the two digital tape recorders used to record the AMA data generated by the 1ESS switch. The requirements enable emulation of all existing functions of the tape recorders and enhancements to the billing information provided for mainframe message processing. This document defines the standard output interface for an automatic message accounting teleprocessing system (AMATPS).
