La specifica tecnica definisce un metodo per determinare la distribuzione granulometrica delle particelle di biocombustibile per mezzo di un vaglio vibrante. Il metodo descritto si applica solamente a biocombustibili in forma particellare, cioè materiali che abbiano subito un processo di sminuzzamento, come per la maggior parte dei combustibili legnosi, o che siano per loro natura in forma particellare, per esempio noccioli di olive, gusci di nocciole, granaglia, ecc. La specifica tecnica si applica a campioni di biocombustibile particellare, con pezzatura nominale superiore minore di 3,15 mm (per esempio segatura).
