Versione in lingua italiana della norma europea EN 26189 (ott. 1991) che recepisce senza modifiche la norma internazionale ISO 6189-83. Definisce i procedimenti e i requisiti per condurre l'audiometria liminare tonale per via aerea senza mascheramento, applicabili a individui la cui sensibilità uditiva potrebbe essere negativamente influenzata dall'esposizione al rumore in ambiente di lavoro e presenta tecniche per l'audiometria manuale e a registrazione automatica. I procedimenti e i requisiti definiti riguardano solo l'audiometria liminare tonale per via aerea mediante cuffie; non vengono specificate altre tecniche audiometriche né tecniche relative all'audiometria a controllo computerizzato. Quanto specificato nella norma inoltre non è applicabile ai fini clinici.
