Dieser Teil der IEC 61068 enthält Anforderungen für Bänder, die auf schützenlosen Webmaschinen aus Polyesterfilamentgarnen/zwirnen hergestellt wurden. Die Norm gilt für Nenndicken von 0,13 mm bis 0,25 mm und Nennbreiten von 15 mm, 20 mm und 25 mm. Es werden die genormten Kombinationen von Nenndicke und Nennbreite festgelegt, und es ist eine zusätzliche Kennzeichnung für solche Bändervorgesehen, die in nicht-normgerechten Breiten geliefert werden, ansonsten aber der Mehrzahl der Anforderungen dieses Teils entsprechen. Dieser Teil legt die Definitionen, eine Bezeichnung und die allgemeinen Anforderungen fest. Die anderen Teile der IEC 61068 sind: - Teil 2: Prüfverfahren, - Teil 3: Bestimmungen für einzelne Materialien.
