Diese Norm gilt für neu hergestellte Inkasso-Wirkverbrauchszähler der Genauigkeitsklassen 1 und 2 zur Messung des Wechselstrom-Wirkverbrauchs im Frequenzbereich zwischen 45 Hz bis 65 Hz, die einen Lasttrennschalter besitzen zur Unterbrechung und zur Wiederherstellung der Elektroenergie für eine Last entsprechend dem Wert eines im Inkassozähler enthaltenen Guthabenspeichers. Sie gilt nicht für Inkasso-Wirkverbrauchszähler, bei denen die Spannung über den Anschlussklemmen 600 V überschreitet (Phase-Phase-Spannung bei Verbrauchszählern für Mehrphasensysteme).
