Abstract

Provides general requirements for the use of the Regulatory Compliance Mark to indicate that a product complies with electrical safety regulations in Australia and New Zealand. Includes appendices giving lists of electrical regulators, regulatory definitions, applicable Standards and procedures for satisfying electrical safety regulatory requirements.

Scope

This Standard specifies the requirements that apply to the use of the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) on electrical products to indicate compliance with electrical safety regulations in Australia and New Zealand. It is applicable to low voltage electrical products and products used in low voltage installations, but does not apply to battery-powered products. It is intended to be read in conjunction with AS/NZS 4417.1, which specifies the RCM and sets out general rules for its use.
