  1. How do I get started?

Open SAI Global InfoStore. If you are new to our InfoStore, you will need to become a Registered User. At the end of the registration process (four easy steps), please select 'Finish' at the bottom right. If you have already registered on InfoStore, simply log in using the button at top right. Select the StandardsWatch option that suits your needs and proceed with the payment process. When payment is completed, a confirmation will be displayed which includes a direct link to your StandardsWatch service. For any subsequent visits, just log in at the InfoStore, hover the mouse over 'Services' (top/middle) and click on 'StandardsWatch'.

  2. How do I create my initial StandardsWatch list/s?

After you have purchased your StandardsWatch service, simply search for the publication that you would like to add to your StandardsWatch list. Tick the 'Watch this' box(es) next to the publication(s) you want to watch, then click 'Process Selections'. A yellow highlighted box will appear at the top of your search page telling you that your selections have been added to your StandardsWatch list. Click on this link to go to your StandardsWatch administration pages.

NB: When adding items to be watched via the 'Watch this' check box, publications will automatically be added to your 'Active List'. If you have created more than one Watch List, please ensure you have made the appropriate Watch List active before processing your selections. If you inadvertently add publications to the wrong list, you can simply drag 'n' drop those publications to the correct list.

  3. What is an 'Active List'?

StandardsWatch enables you to have several different lists to suit your particular project workflow. An 'Active List' is the list that you are currently working on. If you want to modify the publications in a particular list you must first make that list your 'Active List'. To make a list active click on the appropriate tab to open the list and then select 'Make Active'. Remember, if you wish to add new publications to a list, you must first make it 'Active'.

  4. Can I create other StandardsWatch list/s?

Yes. You can group Standards according to your particular needs, e.g. by a particular category such as Safety or Risk Management. You many even want to sort lists by departments within your organization or project names.

Click on the 'Create New List' button and a box will open. Enter an appropriate name for your new list, click on OK and a new tab will appear.

  5. Can I organise the Standards in my StandardsWatch List/s?

You can drag 'n' drop Standards from one Watch List to another. To do this, simply place your cursor over the name of the Standard, hold the left mouse button down and drag it to the Watch List where you want it located. Release the mouse button and the Standard will automatically move into the Watch List.

To rename a Watch list just click on the 'Rename active lists' button and type the desired name into the pop-up box then click 'OK'.

To delete items from the list, tick the boxes on the left of the publications you wish to remove then click on the 'Delete selected publication/s' button below.

When you have finished your changes, click on the 'Save Changes' button.

  6. How do I keep track of changes I make to my StandardsWatch lists/s?

  7. How will I be notified of changes to publications in my StandardsWatch List?

For every Watch List in your service, you will receive an email notification advising you of any changes to publications in that list. For instance, if you have four lists in your StandardsWatch service, you will receive on email for each list, advising you of changes to Standards in those lists (if there have been any changes). If no changes have occurred at all in the past month, you will receive an email telling you as much.

  8. Do I have a record of all my email notifications?

Yes. In your StandardsWatch service, click on the 'Notification List' tab. It contains copies of all email notifications you have received. Click on the email to review its contents. If you wish to have the email re-sent to you, click on the 'Re-send Email' link.

  9. Can I attach my own notes to my lists?

Yes. Each publication can have its own note attached to it. These notes will also appear in the notification emails you receive for that publication. Go to the relevant publication, click on the notes symbol, add your note to the pop up screen and select 'Save'. This note can be changed at any time. Only one note can be saved per publication.

  10. How do I find further information about a publication in my StandardsWatch list?

To view the details on a particular publication select 'Further Info' from your StandardsWatch list. Alternatively start a new search in the 'Search' box. The results page will list the search results, then click on the publication title. This page gives details of cross-referenced publications, international equivalent publications and other closely related publications as appropriate.

  11. How do I purchase the publications I am notified about?

When you receive your email notification about the publication, simply click on the 'Order Hardcopy' or 'Order PDF' links. This will take you to the relevant purchasing pages in InfoStore. To purchase additional publications simply search for any publication within the InfoStore and add it to your shopping cart. Alternatively, there are 'Further Info' links from within your StandardsWatch service that will take you to the purchasing options.

  12. How can I automatically receive updated publications?

If you would like certain publications automatically sent to you when they become available then the 'Standing Orders' feature will facilitate this process.

  14. What do I need to know about a multiple licence?

Organizations that wish to have more than one person using StandardsWatch can buy packs of multiple licences. The person who purchased the pack (or whoever they nominate) is set up as the Administrator. The Administrator can distribute the licences to people within their organization, track who has licences, and view how a licence was activated as well as being able to redistribute a licence to another employee (e.g. when an employee leaves that organization).

NB: The administrator tab only appears for the administrator of multiple licences.

  15. How do I administer a multiple licence?

When you purchase a set of multiple licences, the 'Administrator' tab is activated and the numbers of these licences become visible in the administrator tab, listed under 'Security code'. You, as the Administrator, then distribute these numbers to your nominated sub-licensees of the service. The sub-licensee must then register on the InfoStore. When registration is complete, the sub-licensee hovers the mouse over 'Services' and clicks on 'StandardsWatch' where they will be redirected to the 'About StandardsWatch' page. Now click on the link in the 'Licensed Already' panel at the top and enter the security code that has been provided into the 'Licence Code' box. You (the Administrator) will then be able to see the email address that each licence has been allocated to in the 'Administrator' tab.

NB: If the administrator has distributed a licence to a colleague with an existing StandardsWatch, the 'Licence code' box can be accessed under the 'My StandardsWatch' tab by clicking on 'Attach a new licence'.

  16. How do I import items from one StandardsWatch to another?

StandardsWatch has the ability to import from other StandardsWatch users. To do this go to the 'My StandardsWatch' tab, insert your colleague's licence number in the 'Security Code' box and click 'Import files'. This will add the list/s and its contents to your StandardsWatch. All of the items will appear in addition to the original content. If you exceed the permissible number, or attempt to duplicate existing List names, alerting messages will notify you accordingly.
